Carmen Sanges holds a PhD in Medical Biotechnology and is currently the EU Initiatives Scientific Project Lead of the Cellular Immunotherapy Program at the University Hospital Würzburg. University Hospital Würzburg is a centre of excellence for translational and clinical research in cancer immunotherapy, specifically with gene-engineered T cells. It boasts an outstanding track record in the immunotherapy arena, practical experience in developing and clinically deploying cellular immunotherapy, and a comprehensive network within the medical, scientific, patient, regulatory, and entrepreneurial communities. I am a dedicated professional with expertise in coordinating and advising EU-funded initiatives in the field of cellular immunotherapy and gene therapy. My role involves spearheading strategic projects, fostering collaboration among EU consortia, and accelerating the translation of innovative therapies into clinical practice.

Role within JOIN4ATMP

The partnership between T2EVOLVE and the JOIN4ATMP European initiative represents a strategic collaboration aimed at leveraging the strengths and resources of both programs to achieve maximum impact in the field of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). As the connector between the T2EVOLVE and JOIN4ATMP initiatives, I play a pivotal role in facilitating effective communication, collaboration, and synergy between these two programs. My role involves fostering relationships, aligning objectives, and ensuring that the efforts of both programs complement each other, ultimately maximizing their combined impact on the advancement of ATMPs.
