A new European webinar series is set to spotlight the growing role of patients in shaping advanced therapy clinical trials

The Join4ATMP project has announced the launch of its 2026 webinar series, aimed at exploring how patient involvement can transform the design of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP) clinical trials.

The series will bring together a broad range of stakeholders, including patients, researchers, clinicians, developers and regulators, to exchange real-world experiences and identify best practices for meaningful engagement.

The first session, titled “Listening to Experiences: The Impact of Patient Involvement in ATMP Clinical Trial Design,” will take place on 14 April 2026 from 17:00 to 19:00 CET. The event will focus on practical insights from both patient and developer perspectives, highlighting lessons learned, challenges encountered, and approaches that have proven effective in making trials more patient-centred.

Speakers include leading experts such as Julio Delgado of Hospital Clinic Barcelona, Antonia Busse of Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Alessandra Renieri of University of Siena, alongside industry representatives like Tara Hastings of Sanofi and Mary Wang of Genespire. Patient advocacy will also be represented by Gvantsa Kvantaliani of Rett Syndrome Europe.

The session will be hosted by EURORDIS, with Senior Project Manager Claudia Fuchs facilitating discussions alongside Join4ATMP partners.

The webinar series is designed not only to share knowledge but also to directly inform the Join4ATMP roadmap and future recommendations. By integrating diverse perspectives, the initiative aims to advance more inclusive and effective clinical trial designs in the rapidly evolving ATMP field.

A second webinar is already planned for mid-June 2026 and will focus on emerging recommendations and key learnings from the initiative. Further details are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Registration for the first session is now open here! We encourage stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem to participate and contribute to shaping the future of patient-centred clinical research.
