IP and Open Science Webinar

Open Science refers to an approach based on open cooperative work and systematic sharing of knowledge and tools as early and widely as possible. As part of Horizon Europe, appropriate Open Science practices are now a requirement in all projects.

But how are Open Science practices compatible with the obligation to protect and exploit results? Consortium partner EURICE is teaming up with the European IP Helpdesk to provide clarity on this issue.

In collaboration with the European IP helpdesk, we are organising a webinar on "IP and Open Science". Together with our guest speaker Nigel Clarke, we will focus on:

• Outlining the basics of Intellectual Property (IP) and Open Science (OS)
• Exploring the concept of “openness” in its various forms and show how the IP system fits with the essence of Open Science
• Outlining how “Open” does not mean “no IP issues”, nor “free for commercial use”.
• Creating awareness of, and building confidence in, applying the laws of IP to the culture of Open Science

The webinar will be aimed at less experienced researchers who are new to Horizon Europe and the topics of IP and Open Science. Please note that as the event is being offered to multiple different projects simultaneously, we will not cover confidential information related to specific projects, but rather provide a more general overview followed by an opportunity to ask questions.

The webinar will be exclusively available to all EURICE project partners and will be offered on the following date:
